John was AMAZING! His knowledge about dining in Tokyo was incredible! 3 different dining experiences plus ending the night at a very very small local bar! I highly recommend this tour!!!
What a cool tour! This experience was so much more insightful and nuanced than I expected. Manami did a great job listening to our interests, teaching us about new aspects of Akihabara culture, and taking us deep into the neighborhood. She helped us explore places we never would have been brave enough to visit on our own (nothing dangerous, just really outside of our usual experience), resulting in new understanding and "a-ha" moments for all of us. Manami told us some great stories, made fascinating observations about how manga/anime culture reflects Japanese culture as a whole, and didn't shy away from tough questions. She was especially kind to help our son find a particular anime character figure he was hoping to buy--not an easy task! I would recommend this tour for anyone with an open mind and a deep interest in manga culture!
