Tour Description
What better way is there to experience a bit of French local life than spending the morning at the market? Often overlooked by tourists and much coveted by locals, Marché d’Aligre boasts an array of items from flowers to fruits, produce to pastries, with just about everything in between.
During this Paris market tour, you will hop from stand to stand in the company of your local host. They will introduce you to shopkeepers, give you the history behind various French delicacies, and show you how to order some of the best specialties around. You might taste some treats along the way while stocking up on others in preparation for a small end-of-tour picnic. Should you choose, you can wash it all down with a glass of French wine.
You’ll leave this food tour with both a newfound knowledge of local eating habits, as well as a belly full of tasty treats. But more importantly, you will have spent the morning living a truly French experience, as the local market traditions are alive and well in this part of the world.

We truly enjoyed our market tour with Maria Alicia. She was super knowledgeable and friendly. She has such great rapport with vendors and merchants, we were made to feel like locals because of her connections. We walked, talked, ate, and drank our way around merchants, a covered market, and an open air market all the while enjoying the bounty from fantastic artisans and learning the details and back story from Maria Alicia. The tour was simply great and we would highly recommend Maria Alicia to seeking a true Parisian culinary adventure!

Rhonda’s market food tour was superb! We visited the early morning outdoor market with rows of stalls with everything you find in a French kitchen. Rhonda knew the best vendors and we purchased the amazing breads, cheeses, mangos, strawberries, pear tart, and wine. At the end Rhona arranged a beautiful chef’s table and we enjoyed all the delicacies and fruits of the season. Rhona was kind enough to share many of her special recipes! This experience is not to be missed! KD from Philadelphia

This market tour exceeded all of our expectations. Rhona was a fabulous guide. We learned so much and enjoyed the most wonderful picnic in a local park after we had picked out the yummiest of food for our tastings. Do not miss this tour.!
