My husband and I had a wonderful tour of the Alhambra with Pablo. This was our second experience with Context Travel and it was excellent. I requested that Pablo be our guide based on his background profile as an historian and he gave just the tour we were hoping for. Pablo proceeded at our pace, meaning we would stop and talk as long as needed to answer our questions and explain historical and artistic elements at the sites. There’s a lot to take in at the Alhambra, but we came away with a good understanding of what we saw. Pablo is also warm and friendly, and loves his work. Though the tour was 4 hours+, the conversations were lively and the time went quickly. I would add that we were staying at the Parador de Granada, which is located on the Alhambra grounds, so his tour helped us orient to the gardens, walls and palaces that we passed by on subsequent days. We had a wonderful tour with Marina. We were both very tired but her passion and energy for art, history, and Alhambra made for a lovely time! She answered any questions we had and referred back to previous examples and things we’d seen along the way. Our Alhambra tour with Pablo Lopez Chaves was one of the most thrilling and informative experiences we have ever had visiting an antiquity site - in any country. Pablo is a college professor who is well-versed in communicating information and his presentation was utterly fascinating and informative. During our 4 hours together he explained not just what we were seeing but the human and historical background behind them, providing us with an added layer of context we would otherwise have missed. Alhambra is a one of a kind destination - and Pablo brought it to life without overwhelming us with excessive information. We are so grateful that we were able to take in this majestic Spanish treasure with his guidance. We can't recommend him highly enough for anyone who wants to understand what Alhambra represents and its considerable impact on world history.
