Are you ready to discover more about the greatest exponent of Catalan Modernism? This journey will reveal Gaudi's talent and what lies behind his majestic works.
We’ll begin by looking at the history of Barcelona and the growth of the city, exploring the work of urban planner Ildefons Cerda, whose 1859 “enlargement” laid out the modern city. With this architectural context as a backdrop, you will make your way through the heart of Barcelona to see two of Gaudí's masterpieces: the Casa Milà (also known as La Pedrera), where we’ll explore its fantastical exterior, and the Casa Batlló, on the Block of Discord, where we’ll spend time on its roof and the apartment inside.
We’ll begin by looking at the history of Barcelona and the growth of the city, exploring the work of urban planner Ildefons Cerda, whose 1859 “enlargement” laid out the modern city. With this architectural context as a backdrop, you will make your way through the heart of Barcelona to see two of Gaudí's masterpieces: the Casa Milà (also known as La Pedrera), where we’ll explore its fantastical exterior, and the Casa Batlló, on the Block of Discord, where we’ll spend time on its roof and the apartment inside.
During the Gaudí tour, you will also look at the works of some of this architect's followers and rivals, including buildings by Puig i Cadafalch and Domènech i Montaner. You will discuss these Modernista architects’ influence on Gaudí and how they wove their unique points of view and inspirations into their finished designs.
By the end, you will have insight into Barcelona’s aesthetic evolution and what led Gaudí to construct incredible buildings that fight against the modern grid deliberately.

For this tour, your tickets are pre-purchased which allows you to skip the ticket office line upon arrival at the venue. You may still have to wait in a security line or in a line to have your pre-purchased ticket scanned.

Ariadna’s love of art, architecture and the Modernist period was evident in her enthusiastic descriptions and invitation to discussions and questions as we toured. We would have missed many subtle points, including the competition among architectural visions presented during the tour if we had toured these iconic structures on our own. On a personal note, Ariadna made access to an elevator easy when I could not manage multiple flights of stairs in Casa Batllo. I generally avoid asking for special accommodations, but she arranged access in a discreet and caring way. Many thanks!

Our private Gaudí tour with Veronica was absolutely unforgettable! From the very beginning, she brought the history of Barcelona to life, explaining how the city’s layout and expansion set the stage for Gaudí’s genius. Her knowledge of Catalan Modernism went far beyond the surface—she connected the dots between Gaudí, his contemporaries, and the cultural influences that shaped their work, which gave us such a deep appreciation for the architecture all around us.
The highlight of the day was exploring Casa Batlló, where Veronica guided us through every whimsical detail and even gave us the rare chance to ride in the original lift—a magical touch that made the experience feel even more special. Standing on the roof and inside the apartment, we could really imagine what life was like when Gaudí first envisioned this masterpiece.
We also loved seeing Casa Milà (La Pedrera) and learning about Puig i Cadafalch and Domènech i Montaner—Veronica explained their rivalries and inspirations in such a captivating way that the buildings seemed to tell their own stories.
By the end of the tour, we felt like we truly understood Gaudí’s vision and Barcelona’s evolution as a city. Veronica’s passion, warmth, and depth of knowledge made this one of the best tours we’ve taken. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to dive deeper into Gaudí’s world!
