Once again we can say, Context never disappoints. We’ve done Context tours in China, Hong Kong, Rome and now Barcelona. We can truly say, our guide Biel stands out at the top as an exceptional guide who provided a phenomenal tour. A professor who teaches art history - his students are very fortunate to have him! We met Biel in front of a hotel, with pedestrians walking all around us and traffic streaming by, and from the first moment, his energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge simply enveloped us - no matter the urban noise around us. We learned so much about Gaudi and two other architects of the time; about modernism as a reaction to the staid and orderly architectural designs Gaudi reacted to. Through examples we visited and Biel’s engaging conversation, we learned about and saw the connections for Gaudi, between nature, God and architecture. It was amazing to see buildings through Biel’s eyes and incredible knowledge about art history. He made the city’s buildings come alive in a way that would not be possible without his unbridled enthusiasm. His guidance through Casa Battlo uncovered so much more than others using audio guides were receiving. He showed us nooks and crannies and surprises others were walking by. We cannot recommend Biel’s Gaudi tour enough other than to say, don’t miss it! Thank you Biel! And thank you once again, Context!

Our guide Biel was amazing. His knowledge, enthusiasm & energy made the whole experience very informative & enjoyable. Despite the pelting rain we managed to do it all. One recommendation is maybe offer during the week too as weekend makes the buildings packed & one doesn’t get to appreciate the interiors.
