My tour of the National Archaeological Museum with Anthi has been a highlight of the trip. She presented a very thoughtful and enlightening selection of the Museum’s extraordinary collection, with a theme of the development of sculpture. Her witty, insightful and engaging commentary made me feel like I was talking with an especially clever and expert friend. I particularly enjoyed her interpretations, often from the way a woman would perceive the details (e.g., the burial finery of a mother and her baby, the social relevance of the Linear B records, the pathos of tombstones, the whorls on the Agamemnon breastplate, etc.). I feel lucky to have had the experience of Anthi’s tour.
