France Private and Small Group Walking Tours

Birthplace of haute cuisine and high fashion
France is known for its cultural sophistication and cultivation of the intellect. Its influence on art, music, literature, science, politics, fashion, food, and philosophy—just to name a few fields—is unparalleled.
"This tour was the high point of my three weeks traveling in Europe and Iceland. I had read "A Tale of Two Cities" and the tour brought to life the history of the French Revolution. We walked the path of the revolutionary activities and were treated to a deep and insightful presentation of the context and the activities that took place in the locations we visited. Irene was outstanding in her knowledge and communication of the history. We learned so much about the history and the feelings of the French people who realized this dramatic transformation of world events. Thank you." – E. Michael

We had a wonderful private evening tour of the Left Bank with Gil Soltz. He was very engaging and began by asking about our background in history, which helped him tailor the experience to our interests. Gil is highly knowledgeable about the history, artists, and writers associated with the neighborhoods we explored. His storytelling brought the area to life, and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Left Bank through his eyes.
We had a private three-hour tour with Sylvanie of Musée d’Orsay; she met us promptly at the arranged time and place. From the very beginning, she asked about our interests in art, ensuring the experience was tailored to us. Sylvanie is a gifted teacher—deeply knowledgeable and passionate about her subject. She guided us through the evolution of painting and sculpture, from Academic art to Realism to Impressionism, weaving history and insight seamlessly into our visit. The three hours flew by, and we came away with a much richer understanding and appreciation of the works we saw. Private tours are truly the best way to experience the Musée d’Orsay, and we highly recommend Sylvanie Arnaud for anyone seeking an engaging and enlightening art history tour in Paris.

Pauline was excellent. She was knowledgeable and passionate about the history. She added a walk through of an extra church along the way which was much appreciated.
