Winnie Ubbink
As a child growing up with 5 younger siblings, Winnie’s skills at storytelling grew naturally as she kept them engaged & entertained. As a guide, she now uses those skills to narrate stories about Singapore including those from her childhood kampong days.
She is a third generation Singaporean of Indian & Chittti Peranakan origin who grew up in a very mixed neighbourhood with Chinese and Malay families, and loves to share foodie stories & recipes while visiting local markets and hawker centers with her overseas visitors.
Prior to becoming a tourist guide three decades ago, Winnie worked in sales and marketing in the hospitality industry – which she enjoyed immensely.
Her travels abroad have given her great confidence in her ability to interact with people from all walks of life . She has a Dutch husband & 3 grown up children who are all working overseas. She learnt & perfected her French language skills while working in the hospitality sector, and is now studying Spanish.
