Art History-Anthropology in Mexico City
About Maricela

I am a teacher and a passionate licensed tour guide in Mexico City, where I was born and raised, with an academic background in the fields of Anthropology, Art History and Archaeology.

I'm a born traveler with a deep passion for culture and history. I had the great opportunity to live in France for five years, where I studied at the Art History School of the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Archaeology School at the University of Aix-Marseille. I then spent six years in Asia, living and working in both the Philippines and Malaysia, experiences that broadened my global perspective and deepened my appreciation for cultural diversity.

My exposure to alternative societies has deepened my appreciation for the richness and complexity of Mexican cultural heritage—a heritage that continues to reveal itself to me in ever more profound ways.

Leading tours allows me to bring together my greatest passions: teaching, engaging in meaningful cultural exchange, and speaking foreign languages. It’s a unique space where I can share knowledge, learn from others, and celebrate the rich diversity of human experience—all while showcasing the heritage of my beloved Mexico City.

I have 19 years of experience designing and conducting cultural experiences for discerning travelers, embassies, national and international academic and cultural institutions, museum patrons, international art events, multinational corporations, top travel agencies, 5-star and luxury hotels, international event planners and more.
