Gréta holds a BA from ELTE University in Budapest, and completed her MA studies in Jerusalem and the Central European University in Budapest. Her intellectual pursuits concern how politics and ideology shape urban life, inspire art, and determine cultural history. She has lived and studied in many cities, including Budapest, Berlin, Saint Petersburg, Jerusalem, and most recently, Stockholm. Greta’s intellectual life is deeply informed by her experiences living in these diverse cultural contexts.
Gréta is an expert in guiding visitors through the dynamic history of Budapest’s Jewry. Gréta introduces tourists to the rich history of Jewish life and art within the city. This includes synagogues, memorials, cultural institutions, and museums. She also guides her clients through sites which commemorate Jews’ experiences during the Holocaust, remaining attentive and sensitive to them throughout the tour. Gréta is mindful of the rich, active history that her city holds within its sites.
Gréta organizes events and special study tours for university students from all around the world from the United States, Europe and Israel. Her experience teaching Jewish history and memory politics in the classroom has informed her research process and learnt how to present the material in an accessible format for clients of diverse ages and backgrounds to understand.
Currently, Gréta works as an independent cultural project manager and private tour guide. She loves to read, watch movies and learn art therapy. Greta is delighted to share the history of her beloved city with you.
