Ciao Tamara, This is your friend's comment! Our docent was incredibly knowledgeable about wine and the history of Venice which provided context for the food and wine. Loved going to out of the way local spots. Spacing in between tastings for a walk and history lesson worked very well for us.

Tamara was so knowledgeable and her love for Venice was...intoxicating (pun!) She really delivered in knowing the history of the town, fun facts about merchants and markets, brought us to the local places and showed us interesting wines and tasty food. I loved the wines she shared with us and their link to Venice and the foods she chose. The two shops she picked were perfect! They were local places and gave us another view into life in Venice. I, and my three companions, loved every minute and felt like we hired a best friend for three hours to show us around, drink wine, and learn a lot. My only request would be to have one more stop. Although we just managed the two in the 3 hour time frame I felt like we could have used one more stop with another food bite or two.

WHAT WORKED: Great docent - very well informed and patient to all our questions; Very well handled a mix group ranging from beginners (myself) to very knowledgeable wine drinkers who knew about Italian wines; Also was good that the 2 wine bars were not that far apart - particularly after a couple glasses of wine from the first one; Also greatly appreciated Mario's kindness with showing us places to have dinner after the wine tasting since we ended around dinner time and that is the natural question; WHAT DIDN'T : Would have like the addresses & names of the wine bar and other wine bars in the area that we could try;
