I believe the main problem was her English. We understood very very little (maybe about 30% of what she was saying). When we asked a question her answer was not even close to related to the question as she did not understand English well either. The design of the tour was well thought out it seemed but it was frustrating to not understand anything. We ended the tour about 1 and 1/2 hours before it was over because it was just too frustrating. Elisabeth, as a person, was motivated and wanted to do a good job. She just needs much improvement of the English language.
Very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and archeology of Rome. Excellent guide that taught us a lot.
Wow! Phillip was a superb guide. This tour was a not only a welcomed relief from the heat of Rome in July, but was an extraordinary glimpse into the puzzle of archaeological findings and how archaelogist try to determine what happened at a site. I was particularly grateful for the images that Philip showed us at the beginning and throughout the tour. He showed us maps, old photos and paintings which helped us understand the significance of the church of San Lorenzo. I did not want the tour to end and wish I had the chance to see the Ara Pacis!
