The walk was very good overall. The only suggestion I would make is that the initial meeting place was a little distant from the first tasting.
Elizabeth was very knowledgeable, engaged, and patient. She was really present for us, which can't be easy to do repeatedly. We absolutely loved the tour, and learned a great deal in the process. Everything worked, but one thing I found we would have liked was maybe the opportunity to follow along on a map, and mark things we saw and did. We actually wanted to re-visit some places the next day, to try something else or just have something delicious we'd tried on the tour, and we couldn't retrace our steps and find the places in some cases. It would have been a nice addition to have them noted on a map. (I appreciate that this wouldn't be something that would be packaged or prepared in advance, but maybe something that the docent would suggest we do, and perhaps bring printouts of a map of the neighborhood for us to use).
I love the idea of this tour and Elizabeth was sweet and knowledgeable. The parts that were disappointing were that the Jewish ghetto was closed up due to it was a Saturday and we could only look at closed up shops. Plus, the outdoor market we went to was closing up when we arrived. I loved the Forna..........bakery, the wine and cheese tasting, and the coffee and gelato. It would have been better timed on any day but Saturday ( due to the Jeiwsh ghetto) and when the open air market was actually open.
