We expected occasional showers. Instead we had a morning downpour. Despite the weather Jens was able to make this tour a very rewarding experience. We decided to have breakfast near the Moon Temple Mount with the hope the rain would ease. Jens provided a fascinating history of Teotihuacan and the eventual arrival of the Aztecs. He really knows his history. We were able to visit the primary sites of Teotihuacan between the raindrops although we found the guardians very unhelpful. Those sites that would have provided cover were closed “on account of rain.” We stopped briefly at the Alcomon Monastery which has been beautifully restored. And then Jens suggested we head for the Basilica de Guadalupe where thousands of people were gathering for tomorrow’s celebration of the dia de la Virgen de Guadalupe. What an amazing and unexpected cultural experience.
Superb tour guide!
A very excellent guide for a not-to-be-missed museum.
